Holiday apartment “Schwert” Thun
A contemporary living under the roof of the historic house “zum Schwert”
(The house to the sword).
Enjoy our airy, loft-like attic apartment in the heart of Thun's old town - on the sunny side of the castle. The apartment offers expansive 90 square meters above and into the roofs of Thun. The panoramic view to the verdancy of the castle hill and up to the venerable castle are just spectacular. The apartment has a direct access to the terraced gardens, to the sun deck and to the own small outdoor seating area. The spacious eat-in kitchen with coffee machine, dishwasher, large refrigerator, and freezer inspires your cooking and the gas stove gives a Mediterranean flair to all this. The dining table with the red vinyl covering in the cosy seating area ensures moments of interesting and relaxing topics of conversation. A selected natural stone floor was laid in the living area facing the castle side.
In the sleeping area on the main alley side, you will walk on a homely parquet floor. A large walnut double bed with two mattresses promises a sound sleep.
The two additional beds give option to also accommodate a family with two children. In the bathroom you find a freestanding bathtub and a shower just next to it. The toilets are in a separated space.
A washing machine and a tumbler are available. The equipment includes bed, toilet, and kitchen linen.
This apartment offers a great comfort without television but with a wonderful view. The “Aareschwumm” – the way we call the place to start a swim into the river “Aare”, is just around the corner. The location of the apartment is also a perfect starting point for a city trip through Thun, for excursions into the wonderful mountain region of the “Berner Oberland” with its lakes and river landscapes or for a short journey to the nearby federal city of Switzerland.
